DIA European Tour: discovering digital opportunities

On 19th October, TICE.PT organised a regional workshop dedicated to Digital Transformation in Industry.  The 1st session, attended by around 30 people, where Digital Transformation in Industry challenges and opportunities where presented by RTO and companies (including SME from ICT, manufacturing, sustainable construction and automotive). A Keynote Speaker, from the University of Aveiro, introduced the main topics and potential benefits for Digital Transformation projects in industrial companies, including topics presently included in large and mobilising nationally funded R&D projects.

After this first moment, companies like Renault and Scent presented their roadmap for Industry 4.0 activities. SME from the ICT cluster also introduced their products, services and case studies in different sectors.

The second panel was dedicated to present some support projects and mechanisms in which TICE.PT is engaged namely Digital Industry Alliance, IoTEC, IoT4Industry and PME Digital, projects touching this wide domain in several phases. TICE.PT also introduced the Portuguese Digital Skills programme for Industry and the Centro S3 monitoring scheme and priorities. To better understand such process ITICE.PT also invited Aveiro’s Industry Association to explain their services and the nationally managed support schemes for Industrial modernization.

At the beginning of November (05-06) 11/GAIA /Basque Game organized in Bilbao the European Alliance cluster meeting. It has been an occasion to present activities from different European clusters (some of the also DIA partners like MESAP and SCS)and to identify cooperation opportunities for clusters and associated companies. A great occasion also to present Basque Industry 4.0 Conference (26th November 2018) , a multidisciplinary event born in 2014 where strategy, opinions, technology, experiences and workshops are promoted between different stakeholders (companies, universities, technology centres, consulting and engineering companies, public administration and industry-oriented service companies) in short, for everyone who wants to learn first-hand about the different aspects associated with the fourth industrial revolution.
